Prayers for Lizzie and Family

I am so behind blogging that I don't even try anymore, sorry.  Maybe someday, but for today I needed to send a request for prayers for sweet Lizzie.  Her parents are trying to get home to her and are waiting for flights to open up.  It breaks my heart for this precious girl and her family.  They are amazing people, my prayers and thoughts are turned to them.
Will you take a moment for them?

"Our Lizzie fell in the hospital yesterday and hit her head and had a bad seizure. She is currently not responding to people. Please if you have a minute pray for her and for us so we can find flights home...we haven't been able to find flights before Thursday and we know we need to get home ASAP. We believe in the power of prayer, thanks in advance for your prayers...we so need them right now."--Lizzie's Mom

Thanks.

As I promised…

Our year (almost, through the end of summer 2011 anyway) in review.

Here goes, from where we left off in the Spring…of LAST year.  Just a tad behind.

Live Writer uploaded the pictures last to first, so they start from the end of each month to the beginning.  Figured I wouldn’t be picky.

I was invited to join a craft group with some fun gals and one of them loaned Brinnlie this fun toy that doubles as support for her standing.  She loved playing and swishing around in it!

Swimming Lessons

Broxton started the season in level I and passed it off the first session.  So he went to Level II for the second session, with Gunnar and Macie.  The three of them were in the same class.

Broxton is our water boy, he just jumps right in.  Unfortunately, he can’t quite touch the bottom.  Didn’t stop him though, his teachers spent a lot of time telling him to grab the side and by the end of the first day, he got his own instructor just to keep him busy so as to not have time to let go!

YW Girl’s Camp:

American West Heritage Center, Wellsville

I was called to serve as assistant camp director for our ward and helped Michelle plan the trip.  We spent three days, slept in a teepee, did pioneer/mountaineering games, crafting, laughing, crying…all the things that make girls camp, especially wonderful young women.  Brinnlie even came along!

One of the games, log cutting.  Michelle and Jen didn’t come close to my and and Angie’s time…we smoked everyone!

AUGUST  2011

HOneyville City celebrated 100 years and a BBQ celebration was held at the park.  After dinner the kids played while we visited with neighbors.  Macie was heard crying on the playground, and her friends came running to tell of her plight.  She had fallen from crossing the monkey bars.  She came over to sit it out at the bowery with us, but kept crying and saying her arm hurt.  It looked fine and she could move it so no second thought was given, it was just bumped and would bruise.  She slept through the night and it hurt off and on the next day.  By the day after that, it was still on and off, but since it was persistnet, I took her in.  Of course, it WAS BROKEN!  I felt horrible...So Sorry Mace!

Macie broken arm 8-5-11macie broken arm 8-5-11 (2)macie broken arm 8-5-11 (3)

Macie wore her cast for only 2 weeks.  It took this long to get it so dirty and itchy inside, she got a rash and managed to pull it off to scratch.  So, instead of putting another on, she got to wear a brace for the last 2 weeks…silly girl!

------------------------------------------------

I don’t have pictures of this, but the 6th of August our ward had a service day in which Trevor was put in charge of organizing.  Many members and neighbors spent the entire day working and helping with different projects within our community and spent an hour break for lunch with each other.  I was in charge of going between the work sites and making sure everyone had water and anything else they may have needed.  I was truly humbled at each site.  The amount of love that was put into doing such service to others and the way everyone pulled together to accomplish such a great feat, wow!  I was happy to be a part of it, and glad to live in such a great community!

Campin’ at Belmont Springs

We spent a few days here lounging in the trailer, sitting under the canopy, playing on the swings, and some swimming.  It makes for s nice little getaway while the guys are busy on the farm…not to far, but yet far enough.
