Wednesday we took advantage of the sunshine and walked to Crystal Springs to feed the ducks and geese, and to throw rocks in the water. Broxton has a fascination of throwing rocks in water. The one time we had him at Primary’s with us, as you walk out of the main doors there is fountain and huge rocks around it, well he went strait for them and picked one up, then we saw the sign to ‘please don’t throw rocks in fountain’…he was mortified when we told him no and took the rock away. I’ll take a picture so you can get a visual.
These ducks and geese at Crystal are very in tune with knowing when people are there to feed them. They can be across the pond and see you, then by the time you get down to the shore they are there waiting. We had a whole loaf of yucky bread to give them, but that didn’t satisfy them. They went straight over to another family that had come to give them something right after we ran out! In one of the pictures you can see Macie running from them---she got scared ‘cause there were so many and they would just take the bread from her hand before she could break it into smaller pieces! After running out of bread, we had to find rocks for Broxton to throw into the water. As you can see from the pictures they got lots, two stroller trays full, and we sat there for a good 45 minutes. The ducks were right there with us too, one duck even caught a rock out of the air, thinking it was food! In order to get Broxton to go, we headed to the office and bought a treat, then walked to Michelle’s and sat on the steps and ate them…Logan came home just after so the kids played for a while too.
Gosh, I hope the Spring sunshine comes to stay soon!!!
