We just got back from visiting Brinnlie. We took the whole family this time with hopes that it wouldn’t turn out like the last family trip---it didn’t, no problems to report!
Brinnlie is weighing in at 1 lb. 5 oz., and is at 9 mL of milk (which has been fortified to 24 calories, breast milk is 22) over 1 hour, every 3 hours; So, hopefully she’ll start putting some meat on. Yesterday they started anti-biotics and gave her some steroids to help clear her lungs, which has helped a little; her chest x-ray today showed improvement---yea! This in turn has lowered her vent settings too; her oxygen level is back down to around 30% and holding. She still has her moments of desat-ing, but she recovers and this is still normal for her gestation. She’s a feisty little thing, and she is beautiful! We could stare at her for hours, and it makes us smile to see her doing better and getting bigger. We love her so much and we are so thankful Heavenly Father has given her to us and has blessed her/us through these trying times.
Today was a good day.
